Discussion[View | Edit]

Mixed seed methods[edit source]

Interesting bit of info - the last claim is very significant if true:

"Variations on the latter approach are quite common in Permaculture and organic agriculture, for example the Fukuoka's method (One Straw Revolution) is based on broadcasting a mix of seeds, and I've heard of seed-saving networks (e.g. in India) distributing mixed seeds so that each farmer will - after a season or two - end up with a different crop optimised to their location. From what I've heard, yields of this mix quickly surpassed the one-genetic-clone type of seed bought from the big companies, because that could only be optimised for a single situation." - comment (by Mitra) on Vinay Gupta's post on WorldChanging, Three Approaches to Adaptive Agriculture (emphasis added)

Category Position[edit source]

Why is the Permaculture Category listed under "Agriculture", when it is much more than that? Should it not be listed under the "Green Living" section?

Good point! It does have a big focus on food production though, so how about we put it in both categories? --Chriswaterguy 05:14, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Add new page under Permaculture[edit source]

How about we add a PDC resources page? for collecting resources to help people to teach a PDC or for anyone to go through and learn from...

[I know when I was preparing to teach my first PDC there are very limited resources available online. I want to make it easier for future potential teachers to get out there and teach.]

If someone can add the suggested page, i will happily populate it with what I have collected

Reorganization[edit source]

I've reorganized a bulk of this category into more specific subcategories. --Ethan (talk) 12:30, 14 May 2015 (PDT)

That's great, thank you! --Chriswaterguy (talk) 18:43, 14 May 2015 (PDT)
