Stop Climate Chaos Scotland
(SCCS) is a coalition of organisations in Scotland that are campaigning on climate change, including trade and student unions, environmental and international development organisations, faith and community groups. The coalition has close links with the Stop Climate Chaos coalition in London although it is a separately constituted organisation.

Scotland's Climate Assembly
Scotland's Climate Assembly is a citizens' assembly held from 2020 - 2022 to deliberate how Scotland should tackle the climate crisis in an effective and fair way.
The establishment of a citizens’ assembly with a mandate to make climate recommendations to the Scottish Government was embedded in a 2019 amendment to the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.
The assembly was formed of over 100 members broadly representative of Scotland in terms of age, gender, household income, ethnicity, geography, rurality, disability, and attitude towards climate change.

Sustainable transport activism[edit | edit source]
Transform Scotland is a registered charity based in Edinburgh (charity number 041516). They campaign on issues regarding sustainable transport, encouraging improved transport policies and practice. The organisation is made up of over 60 member groups, including those from the private, public and voluntary sectors. Transform Scotland is the sister organisation of Campaign for Better Transport who operate in England and Wales.
Transform Scotland use a number of tactics in order to encourage the growth of sustainable transport, including lobbying the Scottish Government, carrying out media work, responding to government consultations, compiling independent evidence and research, producing publications and briefing documents, and holding events and projects. They focus on improving public transport and gaining greater funding for sustainable modes of transport, rather than on increased road use.
They are a member of the European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E) and their Director Colin Howden was formally on the Board of T&E.Transform Scotland has three full-time members of staff and has a number of part-time staff and volunteers.

CAVForth (Connected Autonomous Vehicles) is a pilot scheme based in eastern Scotland to develop passenger-carrying autonomous bus services in the United Kingdom. The scheme's first bus route, the AB1 park and ride service, is operated by Stagecoach East Scotland at a 20-minute frequency between Edinburgh Park and the Ferrytoll Park and Ride site via the Forth Road Bridge.
Described by the UK government as being the first full-size public autonomous bus service in the world, the service, which commenced public operations on 15 May 2023, uses a fleet of five Alexander Dennis Enviro200AV diesel single-deck buses built to SAE Level 4 requirements, meaning a driver is present in the bus at all times but does not need to control the bus in regular service.
The CAVForth scheme's first route, numbered AB1, was launched on 11 May 2023 by Scottish Minister for Transport Kevin Stewart, ahead of the route commencing public operations on 15 May. An additional £10.4 million of funding was secured for an extension to Dunfermline named CAVForth2 in February 2023.
CAVForth2 will serve as an extension of CAVForth1, travelling a distance of 20 mi (32 km) between Edinburgh Park and Dunfermline via the Forth Road Bridge and the Ferrytoll Park and Ride site. Stagecoach East Scotland plans to install self-driving technology in pre-existing diesel buses for operation on CAVForth2, while an Alexander Dennis Enviro100AEV battery electric midibus, equipped with the same technology as the larger Enviro200AV, is planned to be used for engineering trials.
