Pages with the "location" parameter set in templates such as Template:Location data, Template:Page data and Template:Project data should have the "coordinates" parameter set too. Else, Appropedia must do an external request to https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/ to get the coordinates every time the page is edited. Thus, to reduce external requests, set the "coordinates" parameter using the following pattern:

| coordinates = {{subst:#geocode:Arcata, California}}

replacing "Arcata, California" for the actual location of the page (the content of the "location" parameter). When you save the page, the coordinates will be fetched and substituted once and for all.
