Tasmania is an island state south of continental Australia. As the southernmost part of the country, it is characterized by a cool temperate climate. Tasmania is reknowned for its unique animal life including the thylacine (extinct) and the Tasmanian devil (endangered). Permaculture co-founder Bill Mollison was born in Stanley and currently resides in Sisters Beach.[1]
