This page has been created, following the public meeting in November 2024, to introduce and begin "Creating a Neighbourhood Plan to protect and enhance West Malling". It's intended to provide useful information on Neighbourhood Plans and Neighbourhood Planning additional and complementary to information on West Malling Parish Council (website).

Neigbourhood Plan Community Survey for West Malling, westmallingpc.org (Apr 16, 2025) — A survey form is dropping through West Malling letter boxes. It has been sent out by the Parish Council to collect information on how everyone would like to see West Malling develop, or be protected from change, in future. The Neighbourhood Plan will eventually be published and a public vote will take place before being submitted to TMBC. Once approved, it will carry equal weight to the Local Plan. Please have your say. You can also complete it on line at surveymonkey.com

[edit | edit source]Since 2012, (and as of Sep 2017) over 2,200 groups have started the neighbourhood planning process, covering areas of nearly 12 million people across England. Over 400 successful neighbourhood planning referendums have now taken place, with an average 'yes' vote of 88%...gov.uk
