The goal is to reduce respiratory contacts in a large percentage of the population.

Like other strategies, it is usually convenient to start it early, because every day of delay there are more infections and the problem grows. You will rarely compensate for delaying your start in order to prepare a "mitigation mitigation" with measures to compensate for the wait.

Parameters:

  • More or less prolonged period: initial descent from red (not manageable with tracing) to orange (manageable with tracing), short-circuit to restore green (after reintroduction).
  • More or less wide geographic scope.
  • Voluntary or not.

It is a very disruptive strategy for the economy, services, mental health, etc. When done reactively, it makes planning difficult: locally and also for those who live in other territories (incoming tourists, for example).

It can be facilitated and made more sustainable over time, using strategies that reduce the impact:

  • economic
  • logistics: food, entertainment
  • organizational: microtribus and others. See needs and systems.
