TissueDB/Materials/Doll or manikin

Doll or manikin is a manufactured doll or manikin used in surgical simulation as a ready-made body base — providing a torso, a skin surface and landmarks such as the umbilicus that a build then modifies. In the documented use it is a low-cost neonatal vinyl baby doll: its surface stands in for newborn skin and its abdominal wall is incised to create the simulated defect.

Bought ready-made and cheaply — the Medeiros build uses roughly 40 cm neonatal vinyl dolls (two, one per defect model). Used as-is as the body base; the build cuts into it to create the defect and can finish it cosmetically (for example a talcum-powder "newborn" dusting).
