Can someone please help me to learn how to categorize and subcategorize pages? I'm a newbee, and finding the learning curve steep. Did I get the categories inserted properly? Does that mean my page "Agrivoltaics" will be indexed into those other pages automatically? comment by TomStanton, 2021-02-26T16:23:36‎.

Still searching for help to explain how categories and subcategories work in this Wiki, so that I can help make sure that subjects I am working on will be indexed well. I’ve tried following the instructions in the Help area, and tried searching the VillagePump, but no luck so far. How can I arrange to get some tutoring, please?

Hi @TomStanton, I'm probably not the best person to answer, but hopefully others will follow, and answer better, but for now: I don't know how you're editing? Are you able to 'edit source'? If you click the 'edit source' tab you should be able to see the wiki markup: <code>Category: Food/Agriculture, Energy, Solar</code>
changing that to should help. I'll try that next so we can see. Hope this is some help to start with Philralph (talk) 09:33, 1 March 2021 (UTC) PS check categories exact naming being used on a page by hovering over the categories shown towards the end of a page eg Portal:Food and agriculture
Hi, and welcome! I see that this page is categorized as Category:Food and agriculture, Category:Energy, and Category:Solar. If those are the categories you were intending to add, you've done great! For a list of our categories, you can check Help:CategoryTree, and a discussion on categorization on Help:Categories. Emilio (talk) 20:01, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
Ok, Emelio. Thank you. I was waiting to see "Agrivoltaics" show up as sub-categories on the Category pages. I see it there now, so that is great. I did need to edit my link to Food_and_agriculture to include the underscores! Done now, I think. TomStanton (talk) 20:14, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
