This machine is designed to shred materials into small particles.

  2. Make sure the hopper is empty and ready for new material.
  3. Put on PPE before operating the machine.
  4. Turn on the shredder by rotating the main power rotary switch clockwise to the up position (see image 1). The switch is located on the right side of the machine.
  5. Add plastic into the hopper and securely close the lid (see image 2).
  6. Start the machine using the forward switch.
  7. Monitor the shredder during operation to ensure it is working properly.
  8. When finished, stop the machine using the stop control.

Troubleshooting

[edit | edit source]
  1. If the blades do not grab the plastic, stop the machine and adjust the material position. You can also cut the plastic into smaller pieces. Never put your hands inside the machine.
  2. If there is too much resistance from the plastic, the machine may stop because the motor cannot handle the load. Turn off the machine and remove some of the material before restarting.

Maintenance

[edit | edit source]

To maintain the shredder and avoid mixing different types of plastic, clean the blades and mesh regularly (ideally after each use).

  1. Turn off the machine and open the hopper lid.
  2. Use a brush to remove small plastic flakes from inside the machine.
