Operation & Procedures
[edit | edit source]Replacing the blade
[edit | edit source]- Pull the grey slot downwards.
- Carefully remove the blade by lifting it up and out.
- Insert new blade, and re-align the grey slot to secure the blade.
Scribing Acrylic
[edit | edit source] Use the bottom hook of the blade to scribe the acrylic
Use the bottom corner to scribe the plastic - Hold the scribe on a 15 degree angle to the plastic
- Pull the scribe along the plastic in one motion; do not pause.
- Repeat motion until the plastic is deeply scored. Do not cut all the way through
- Use a sharp edge (ie metal sheet, table edge) to snap the acrylic sheet along the scored edge.
Storage and Disposal
[edit | edit source]- Ensure the blade remains covered
- Store blades in a secure container
- Dispose of blades by taping the sharp edge and storing them in a designated "sharps" container.
