In general FAST supports journals that provide:
- Open access publication - ideally platinum OA (free to write and read)
- Are the closest to our particular study (e.g. we cite a lot in it)
- Journals that foster rapid review
- Publishing in higher impact factor journals for students pursuing academia

Western Provides APC waivers[edit | edit source]

- Cambridge U Press - currently publish more than 380 peer-reviewed academic journals covering subjects across the humanities, social sciences and science, technology and medicine.
- IOP - mainly physics
- Public Library of Science - PLOS one, Water, Sustainability, Med
- Sage - most everything
