Description[edit | edit source]

The goal here is to build an overview of the initiatives, their linkage and see how we could contribute to the fasten of the circulation, and the aggregagtion of ressources (with as far as possible their date of publication/creation).

Appropedia is looking for help by filling out using this survey to categorize maker projects around COVID-19. We plan to open the database and develop a semantic portal with the information.

Mask[edit | edit source]

Note : There are many doubts and questions about the standards to be met. A dilemma debated on the various channels of FabLabs and makers is as follows: to refrain from doing if it is not in the norms VS to do even if it is not optimal, it is better than nothing (but it must be indicated and leave it to the medical profession to choose whether they use it or not).

==> Note : MATERIALS for FFP3 are: Filter Layer, Inner Shell, DuraMesh®: Polypropylene, Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) , Nose Seal, Clip: Polyethylene , Head Strap: Polyester, Lycra

Some popular comments on the FB groups

  • I see a number of DIY mask options in this group, but none of them appear to have an exit-valve. They all just force you to breathe out through the filter. This will cause the filter to get moist and reduce its effectiveness and useful life, and also doubles the work you have to do to breathe.Might i suggest you follow the design of most commercial plastic facemasks and add 2 one-way valves to the design. Inbound through the filter, outbound to atmosphere.
  • The most important thing is that its washable and that you have a supply of new filters...Printing a shell is easy, making it fit your face not so much
