Mesentery is a double fold of peritoneum that suspends the small intestine from the posterior abdominal wall, relevant in simulation for bowel handling and mesenteric dissection training. The mesosalpinx is a separate fold of peritoneum: it is the upper margin of the broad ligament, it encloses the fallopian tube, and it carries the tubal blood supply and lymphatic vessels. It is also called the mesentery of the fallopian tube.
