Woven Cloth is a plain-weave or twill textile used in medical simulation to replicate thin membranous tissues such as mesentery and peritoneal folds. Its non-stretch, grain-dependent structure provides appropriate tear resistance and visual texture for surgical dissection training. Distinct from knitted cloth (elastic) and felted cloth (non-woven).

Tissues

Tissue Visual Tactile Simulator Notes
Ovary Laparoscopic Ectopic Pregnancy Simulator Sewn into 1–1.5 cm fabric balls and positioned at tube origin for anatomical orientation
Bowel Meckel's Diverticulectomy Simulator Flat bed sheet rolled to form the tubular bowel and its Meckel's diverticulum
Mesentery Meckel's Diverticulectomy Simulator Unrolled portion of the same bed sheet, bunched to form the mesentery root
SkinCricothyrotomy Simulator (Aho)Outermost woven-fabric layer wrapped over the model as the skin the trainee incises first.
