Bangladesh and India. Myanmar is the largest country in Southeast Asia with a population of 51.4 million (2014 census), and Naypyidaw [nèpjìdɔ̀] is the capital city of Myanmar. The largest city is Yangon. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Major National Ethnic Races in Myanmar are The Kachin, the Kayah, the Kayin, the Chin, the Mon, the Bamar, the Rakhine, and the Shan. To be considered a citizen of Myanmar, both parents had to be a natural born citizen. To even apply for naturalization, you have to be the child or the spouse of a citizen. The primary language spoken is Burmese, although there are ethnic minority groups that speak their language. Religion: The CIA The World Factbook revealed that the religions represented in Myanmar are Buddhist 89%, Christian 4% (Baptist 3%, Roman Catholic 1%), Muslim 4%, Animist 1%, other 2%.

Thein Sein is the current president of Myanmar since 4 February 2011. In Myanmar, the president is considered the chief of state and the head of the government. Dr. Sai Mauk Khan has been the vice president since 3 February 2011. The Presidential Electoral College votes are currently taking place in Myanmar and should be finished by the end of February 2016. Government: Myanmar was in a military junta until 2010. On March 29, 2011the military handed over their power and adopted a civilian government.

Flag:

The flag features three horizontal stripes pf yellow, green, and red. In the center of the flag is a white five-pointed star.

Currency

The Burmese Kyat is the currency used in Myanmar.

Climate:

The climate is tropical monsoon; cloudy, rainy, hot, humid summers (southwest monsoon, June to September); less cloudy, scant rainfall, mild temperatures, lower humidity during winter (northeast monsoon, December to April), as reported by CIA The World Factbook.

Terrain: In the north, east and west Myanmar is covered by a mountain range forming a giant horseshoe. Inside the mountain range bordering the north, east and west are the flat lands of Ayeyarwaddy, Chindwin and Sittaung River valleys where most of the country's agricultural land and population are concentrated according to nationsonline.org.
