The Sustainability Encyclopedia is what Appropedia was originally meant to be: an encyclopedia about appropriate technology, sustainability, poverty reduction, international development and related topics. Over the years, Appropedia has grown to encompass many more types of content than encyclopedic articles alone. Thus, the Sustainability Encyclopedia was born to restore that original intention within Appropedia.
Unlike Appropedia, the Sustainability Encyclopedia works very much like Wikipedia, but focused on sustainability topics and thus allowing overly specific and even not-notable articles on such topics. On the more general and notable topics, the Sustainability Encyclopedia overlaps with Wikipedia and only serves to provide useful inline links to other pages in Appropedia.
