A solar ice maker would be useful for disaster relief, refugee camps, and developing nations, as well as camping and simply reducing energy use.


Researchers at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California have created an ice machine that uses solar energy and can possibly pair with numerous other applications like a charging station, LED lighting, solar cooker, or aquaponics systems. [1]
