Subskill of Sager Traction Splint Application
mqdefault.jpgYouTube_icon.svg

There are two ankle straps for the Sager traction splint, one for the left and the other for the right. These are denoted by "L" or "Left" and "R" or "Right" and are made to securely hold the ankle of a patient with a loop for pulling traction extending beyond the bottom of the foot. These straps take into account the fact that patients come in all shapes and sizes and are able to be fitted to the patient's ankle by removal of padding from the Velcro of the strap. These straps should be fitted tightly to the patient's ankle with pads removed as needed to facilitate a good fit; CSM must be intact after application of the strap.
