Abstract
- In an effort to help health posts in Dolakha district in Nepal, Field Ready has requested some medical tools that can be 3D printed. One of the items that they could find beneficial would be a Kidney Tray. Kidney Trays are used to hold surgical tools and keep them from being contaminated.
Bill of Materials
Tools needed for fabrication of the OSAT
- MOST Delta RepRap or similar RepRap 3-D printer
- PLA filament or something similar
Technical Specifications and Assembly Instructions
- Print the part, fill with water to check for leaks, if there are no leaks, the part is okay for use.
- If part leaks, re-print and adjust the print speed or layer width to get better results
Common Problems and Solutions
- Printing the Kidney tray too fast could lead to leaks in the final result, as this is a medical device, the part will become void if subject to leaks. To fix print, adjust print speed, material, or layer width to get better prints.
Similar Products
- If your solution is not a low cost one then it is not really appropriate.
- 102g of filament ~$2.50
- commercial equivalent $12
- Savings of $9.50 per print
