The Wheelchair Table is a specially designed platform that attaches to the arms of a wheelchair, providing a flat, stable surface for eating, working, reading, and other daily activities. It is compatible with both manual and electric wheelchairs, allowing users to have a functional workspace directly integrated with their mobility device.
The table surface is made from plywood, supported by a steel tube frame that attaches to the wheelchair's arms. Fabrication requires a jigsaw to cut the plywood surface to shape and a welder to construct and join the steel tube frame and attachment points.
By combining low-cost materials with basic fabrication tools, this design allows wheelchair tables to be produced locally, giving wheelchair users a practical, attachable work surface where commercial options may be unavailable or costly.

Manuals
[edit | edit source]Field Ready develops manuals to support both the fabrication and safe use of its products. A maker manual provides step-by-step instructions for replicating the design, including materials, tools, and assembly guidance, so that makers in different locations can build the product accurately and consistently. A user manual, where applicable, explains how to properly set up, use, and maintain the product once it is built, helping ensure it performs safely and as intended for the end user. Together, these manuals make the design accessible to both fabricators and the people who ultimately rely on the product.
