The Wheelchair Sliding Board is a mobility aid designed to help individuals safely and easily transfer between a wheelchair, bed, or chair. By bridging the gap between two surfaces, it allows a person to slide across rather than requiring a full lift or transfer by a caregiver, supporting greater independence for wheelchair users during everyday transfers.

The board is made from plywood or timber, cut to shape using a jigsaw. Edges are sanded smooth and rounded to prevent injury during use, since the board makes direct contact with the user's skin and clothing during transfers.

By using low-cost, readily available materials and simple fabrication tools, this design allows sliding boards to be produced locally in settings where imported mobility aids are unavailable or unaffordable, helping more individuals access safe, independent transfer support.
