TissueDB/Tissues/Preperitoneal Fat
Preperitoneal fat is the layer of adipose tissue lying between the parietal peritoneum and the transversalis fascia of the abdominal wall. Anatomically encountered during pre-peritoneal hernia repair approaches (TAPP and TEP), it forms part of the dissection plane for laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.
