TissueDB/Tissues/Bile Duct

From Appropedia

The bile duct is the tubular conduit that carries bile from the liver and gallbladder to the duodenum. The extrahepatic biliary system comprises the common hepatic duct, the cystic duct from the gallbladder, and the common bile duct formed by their union. Cystic-duct insertion anatomy varies considerably between individuals — including parallel-trajectory distal insertion, medial middle-third insertion, and medial distal-third insertion patterns. Accurate identification of these variants during laparoscopic cholecystectomy is essential for safe dissection at the hepatic hilum and for avoiding bile-duct injury.

P53 Silicone Rubber Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Simulator (Casas-Murillo) Cast continuous with the gallbladder using a 2-part Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene negative mold designed in SolidWorks 2016. The published model includes one normal cystic-duct anatomy plus three insertion variants — distal with parallel trajectory, medial middle-third, and medial distal-third — letting trainees rehearse anatomical recognition critical for safe laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
