Clay refers to air-dry or oil-based modeling clay used in medical simulation to represent firm but deformable tissue masses. Clay retains its shape under light pressure and offers modest resistance, making it useful for spatial orientation, lesion modeling, and prototyping anatomical relationships.
Tissues
| Tissue | Visual | Tactile | Simulator | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cervix (SCJ) | Cervical Cancer Screening Simulator, IUD Insertion Simulator | Red clay ring around os represents the squamocolumnar junction. | ||
| Acetowhite Lesion | Cervical Cancer Screening Simulator | White clay patches placed adjacent to SCJ replicate VIA-positive lesions. |
