In 2016 an informal group of young people in Taranto decided to start a civic crowdfunding campaign to bring for the first time a fablab in the old town of Taranto. In the end, they collected 15k€.

In 2016 an informal group of young people in Taranto decided to start a civic crowdfunding campaign to bring for the first time a fablab in the old town of Taranto. In the end, they collected 15k€. They gave those money to the Municipality, which in return assured to host the fablab into an abandon historic palace owned by the municipality. In August 2019, overcoming administrative issues, the association signed the agreement, so now we are starting.
