Supported by Sendai city government.(2012-2017) We focus on projects related to Japanese traditional crafts ( URUSHI ), and something fun!

FabLab SENDAI – FLAT started not only as a “place for making things” but also “a place where you can meet something interesting and things” in May 2013 .

In Open Day that we opens the lab’s door to our city with the goal of improving people’s literacy of design, we offer services depends on user’s level and work on making things, such as providing work support, product development support, educational programs, etc.

One of FabLab Sendai’s main projects theme is “Think about the future of manufacturing based on crafts, materials, technology.” We are committed to educational activities of traditional crafts through workshops, research about technology succession, redesign and prototype of craft instruments with digital fabrication.
