Extreme collaboration is an approach to organizing projects, where teams work in enclosed command center or "war room" like environments that are designed to maximize knowledge exchange and speed up project delivery. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory pioneered the use of extreme collaboration to speed delivery of space mission design proposals. In extreme collaboration, teams of experts are colocated in a command center where they work closely together, talking and white boarding through problems and using networked computers and public displays to facilitate communication and information flow.[1]
