I'm a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at Michigan Tech, on my 7th of 8 semesters here, and I am looking forward to the snow to bring back the winter sports for one last time here.
I have been on track to become an engineer for most of my life at this point. Things really got going during an extensive engineering program at my high school where my capstone project was working with a team to complete a custom built three wheeled track car.
Since getting to tech, my interests have evolved further, I ended up working in the realm of products for the defense industry in the U.S. and am looking to stay in there upon graduation as it has been interesting work for me so far. Along with discovering an interest in that field, the continual evolution of additive manufacturing methods is something I have really taken an interest in and I have been thoroughly enjoying my time in the open source 3D printing course at MTU and it has been expanding my knowledge greatly.
