Ben Savonen is a PhD Student in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University. He formerly received his Masters degree in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University as a part of the Peace Corps Masters International Progam. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania for two years (2012-2014). He obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University in 2011.
His research interests include human-centered design, design for the developing world, and sustainable technologies.
