Soap (bar soap, glycerin soap) is a solid, mouldable cleansing product used in surgical simulation as a very-low-cost substrate for basic needle-handling and suturing practice. It offers resistance to a needle but does not tear, deform, or layer like real tissue, so its use is limited to absolute beginners.
Tissues
| Tissue | Visual | Tactile | Simulator | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Soft tissue | Partial | Partial | — | Basic suturing practice. Bar soap at room temperature provides resistance to the needle; suitable for absolute beginners developing basic needle-handling skills. Does not teach proper tissue eversion or wound care. |
