TissueDB/Materials/Normal Saline
Normal saline (0.9% sodium chloride solution) is a sterile isotonic fluid used in medical simulation as a base for tinted fluid reservoirs, most commonly to simulate blood flow when mixed with a red colourant and delivered through clinical IV tubing. It is inexpensive, widely available in clinical supply chains, and non-staining, which makes it a standard choice for low-cost task trainers that generate a bleeding feedback cue on incision.
