The NextBillion Project
INTRODUCTION
[edit | edit source]This page contains information about the NextBillion Project, which is also sometimes called "NextB".
NextBillion is a project housed at the William Davidson Institute, at University of Michigan. NextBillion is a "global media platform covering social enterprise and emerging markets business . . . featur[ing] original guest-written articles from entrepreneurs, investors and practitioners working across sectors and geographies, along with curated news, events, job opportunities and business development resources." The project goal is to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), to help alleviate poverty for the estimated four billion people who entered the 21st Century without access to the basic necessities for living.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) "target all three dimensions of sustainability and sustainable development, namely the environmental, economic and social dimension." Those dimensions are commonly referred to as "triple bottom line" principles.
