SELF/Paediatric Surgery
In this paediatric surgery training module series, learners will develop hands-on knowledge of surgical care for neonates, infants, and children — from foundational procedures such as appendicectomy and exploratory laparotomy to the management of complex congenital conditions including gastroschisis, omphalocoele, and anorectal malformations. Topics advance through gastrointestinal emergencies, genitourinary procedures, oncological surgery, and hepatobiliary disease, with modules covering both urgent interventions and staged surgical approaches. By the end of the series, learners will be prepared to function competently and safely in the assessment and surgical management of paediatric patients across a broad range of clinical presentations.
This course is open access and may be used in any other certified program free of charge. It is not currently open edit, however, directors of accredited programs who are interested in contributing material or suggesting improvements are encouraged to contact us.
