Pied-billed Grebe, taken by Dustin Poppendieck

Pied-billed Grebe:Podilymbus podiceps:"Grebes spend most of their time in the water and are rarely ever seen out of the water, and rarely ever fly. In addition, they have lobed feet, instead of webbed feet like a duck and are identified by their brown coloring and rounded bill. The are usually seen during the Fall and Summer months around the freshwater marshes"[1]
