The Salvadoran National Indigenous Coordinating Council (CCNIS) is a non-governmental organization that coordinates with the Indigenous Peoples of El Salvador, namely the Nahua, Lenca, and Kakawira. Its objective is to manage aid and projects for these communities, ensuring that Indigenous Peoples are not left without support and to preserve their worldview.

Main objective

It brings together 26 indigenous organizations at the national level and its mission is to promote and strengthen cultural identity, values, spirituality, Indigenous Law, in the political, social and environmental spheres based on the worldview of the Nahua, Lenka and Kakawira Peoples, through mechanisms of coordination, dialogue, agreement and articulation between Indigenous Peoples, the Salvadoran State, the United Nations System and International and multilateral cooperation among others, for the adoption of public policies, programs and services with an intercultural development approach.
