Cómo hacer un deshidratador solar con una caja/en

On this page I explain how to make a solar dehydrator from a single cardboard box (and other materials).

• Large box - In this example it is 50 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm
• Roll of aluminum foil - 10 meters should be left over
• Acetate sheet - It must be at least the size of the largest face of the box (in this example, 50 cm x 40 cm)
• Piece of mesh, mosquito netting or similar - Must be at least the size of the longer side of the box
• Wooden slats - For building the base

• Scissors - For cutting cardboard and acetate
• Cutter - For cutting cardboard and acetate
• Ruler - For measuring and marking cuts and folds
• Pencil - For measuring and marking cuts and folds
• Vinyl glue - For gluing cardboard and aluminum
• Small container - For diluting vinyl glue in water
• Old brush - For applying vinyl glue
• Synthetic glue - For gluing acetate to cardboard (vinyl glue is not suitable for this)

• 
  Open the box.
• 
  Cut the box as shown in the diagram and glue A to A.
• 
  Stick aluminum foil onto what will be the base.
• 
  Fold where the diagram indicates.
• 
  Glue to form the base.
• 
  Make a hole in the bottom of the base with a pencil.
• 
  Cut a hole in what will be the lid.
• 
  Fold along the lines indicated in the diagram. The folds should be 1 cm outside the natural creases of the box, so that the base fits into the lid.
• 
  Glue to form the lid.
• 
  Pierce one of the long sides of the lid with a pencil.
• 
  Cut a piece of mesh the size of the base or lid.
• 
  Build a wooden structure the size of the grid.
• 
  Glue the grid onto the structure.
• 
  Place the structure inside the base and on top of that which you want to dehydrate.
• 
  Cover and expose to the sun at an angle.
• 
  If too much condensation occurs, tilt the lid more, enlarge the holes, or add holes to the lid.
