Aerosol pandemics/UV

From Appropedia

Summary

[edit | edit source]

This page needs lots of work. It's an important part of NPI. It's maintained by x.com/lucasgonzalez but, being a wikipage, anyone who wants can become an appropedia editor (will add link on how to do that). Alternatively, you're welcome to write to me (Lucas) on twitter/X and I will do my best to copy links and even your threads (with permission) here.

As a first step, I'd like to bring some links I've collected with a hashtag on twitter/X: https://x.com/search?q=By%3Alucasgonzalez%20%23uv&src=typed_query

Of course, being a wiki page, we're all welcome to improve the very structure of the page. For now, it seems to make sense to be able to facilitate interested people on their path to 1) learn the science, 2) know about the technology, and 3) have some resources to promote both the science and the technology.

1. Science

[edit | edit source]

a. UV

[edit | edit source]

UV is part of electromagnetic energy. Different wave lengths have different effects. Apparently, 222nm is viricide while being safe for humans. This is obviously a very succinct picture but we all need more and better details.

b. Good

[edit | edit source]

Why is UV a good idea? Where would it be useful?

c. Bad

[edit | edit source]

What would be some problems and difficulties? Technological, health, some people who might be sensitive, doses, cost, difficulty of deployment, etc. Let's find the problems so we can solve them! Even perceived problems so that someone who is knowledgeable may provide the information needed by those who need to know the truth before making decisions.

c. Interesting

[edit | edit source]

Could this technology be combined with others? Are there intereating designs or paths for development? For example: is it possible (and desirable) to work on replaceable uv lightbulbs? Are there specific locations where UV would be most helpful?

2. Designs

[edit | edit source]

a. (To be filled in)

b. Nukit

c. others

[edit | edit source]

3. Resources

[edit | edit source]

Letters to politicians or people in position to take decisions say in health care, posters, etc.
