In a #H5N1BadSoonScenario the need for rapid research would be more intense: transmission routes, treatment, etc. Dr David Fedson strongly suggested statins and other generics, and found understandable corporate resistance to repurposing old generics. There would be need to research this space and find the criteria and strategies that would accelerate the best possible research in order to maximise global public health benefits in the real world.
