Plywood is the one of the main types of wood in the construction of our houses. It has remained popular in United States construction due to it's strong structure, durability, and ease of use. It is commonly used as flooring, siding and other frame work. Its structure of plywood is interesting as it uses thin cut wood, veneer as they can be called. The veneers are glued using the grain of the wood's properties to add strength, as they are glued at right angles of the opposing sheet or veneer. The VOCs become a problem when the wood is glued together with n adhesive containing formaldehyde. | Plywood is the one of the main types of wood in the construction of our houses. Introduction
This page describes VOC levels in plywood, which is a standard United States of America home construction material.
- U.S. material use: DESCRIBE WHAT IT IS USED FOR.
- U.S. material consumption: DESCRIBE HOW MUCH IS USED.
"U.S. demand for hardwood plywood is principally derived from demand for cabinets, furniture, store fixtures, recreational vehicles, and manufactured homes as well as U.S," according to the united states intentional trade commission.[1]
