Plywood hexayurt
Hexayurts are basically made of panels and connectors. Water-proofing, insect-proofing, fixing to the ground and portability need to be considered.
If the panels are from wood, then:
- the connectors need to be stronger than with lighter panels.
- fixing the hexayurt to the ground is probably needed only if there's risk of earthquakes or landslides.
- water-proofing and insect-proofing need to be considered, asking the local experts.
- portability will most likely need a group of synchronised carriers.

- First plywood H13 built 29th June 2011 in Cloughjordan (Ireland)
Vinay is "still not 100% convinced they'll stand the wind at Burning Man easily" - he thinks "we're going to need some testing, and if you are building an H13 this year, please be sure and tape it up well and guy it down solidly, because that's a *lot* of exposed flat vertical surface on the front - but the quality and quantity of the interior space is unbeatable, and in plywood it was a dream to build and is completely solid".
That said, it looks like a great hexayurt, and there will be a video and more detailed pictures up soon!
