- While I was traveling in south Mexico studying appropriate technology abroad I met a guy who made lamps out of recycled plastic bags. After I expressed interest in the material of his lamp shades and explained that I was studying appropriate technology, the man was very nice and helpful. He brought me to his workshop and showed me the process to fuse the bags and create a solid piece of plastic. He also showed me some of his prototype designs for different items made from the fused plastic bags, and one of his prototypes was a wallet. The wallet was well constructed, artistic and made from 100% recycled plastic bags. After creating a couple more wallets with my new friend I decided to make this page and share this simple appropriate technology with the world.
