Background[edit | edit source]
Currently an undergraduate student at the University of Western Ontario under the Faculty of Science, pursuing a double major in Honors Biology and a Major in Medical Science.
I have always been drawn to complex systems and problems, which has been a common factor in many of my interests, in and out of school. I briefly worked in investment banking before enrolling in postsecondary education. The interactions of agents in financial markets and the huge amounts of data generated require an interdisciplinary approach touching many fields of knowledge including Economics, Physics and Computer science to name a few. I find this interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving incredibly fulfilling as it allows one to learn from a broad range of topics. Although I learned a career in finance was not for me I did learn I loved working on complex problems at a level that allowed me to dive deep into many topics while also working on applying what I learned to the problem at hand. This has informed my current research interests and future objectives. I have been deeply inspired by the work individuals have completed on the complex problems of their time, such as work done in the field of Space Exploration in the latter half of the 20th century, and I stand in awe at their accomplishments. I hope to contribute in my own way to the discoveries and solutions to issues of my time.
