Academic and Professional Background

[edit | edit source]

Results-driven materials engineer and corrosion expert with over 8 years of hands-on experience in electrochemistry, corrosion, metallurgy, materials characterization, and failure analysis of metallic systems. Proven success in executing research programs, managing laboratory operations, root cause analysis of corrosion and mechanical degradation, data analysis, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in the metallurgy, corrosion, energy, and biomedical sectors.

Through my academic career I have built a strong foundation in additive manufacturing of metals, wear and corrosion mechanisms, electrochemistry, surface analysis, and failure analysis of implanted devices.

Projects

[edit | edit source]

Additive manufacturing and corrosion of biomedical implants

[edit | edit source]

Investigated the effect of laser-powder-bed fusion (LPBF) process parameters on microstructure, passive film formation, hardness, and electrochemical performance of Ti-6Al-4V. Developed correlations between AM parameters, surface treatment, protein adsorption and corrosion behaviour in simulated body fluids.

Retrieval analysis of metallic implants

[edit | edit source]

Performed retrieval and failure-analysis of more than 240 implants using SEM/EDS and metallography to map degradation patterns, wear tracks, and ion release profiles.

Green corrosion protection & eco-friendly materials

[edit | edit source]

Explored plant-based extracts and silane coatings as non-chromate corrosion inhibitors for steel and aluminum substrates; integrated life-cycle thinking and sustainability into corrosion-protection research.
