My name is Derek. I enjoy being in the outdoors. I like to mountain bike, dirt bike, snowboard, and drive. I am interested in mechanical engineering because I think it applies well to what I like doing in my free time. I like to work on things and make them perform better and I like to build new things. What I will learn in my engineering classes will help me be able to build more elegant solutions to my goals. What I think will help in this class is my hands on experience with building structures in construction work and from working on cars and rebuilding engines. I am very proud of how well this project works and how interactive and mechanical it is. One thing I learned during my ENGR215 class is the importance of a team and splitting up tasks according to each person's skill set. If I were to build the project a second time, I would focus more on building it lighter and cheaper. I put 90 hours in to this class and I am proud of the work I have done.
