Definitions
[edit | edit source]- Curriculum: number of modules associated to a developer (organization, authors).
- Serve as an entry point for a learner
- Can be created by a self-learner or educator by assembling a list of resources
- Contain ideally a sequential
- Are part of a learning requirement with fulfillment criteria
- Do not have a semantic relationship
- LMS-ready or at least can be turned into one in the future
- May provide a certificate at the end
- Module: list of learning resources to develop competency
- Should describe said competency in relation to the listed skills within
- Outcomes must be measurable in terms of proficiency
- Modules comprise multiple methods or learning
- Modules should be based on self-assessment as a central method
- Skill resource: practical by nature and can be physically performed
- Clearly describe the unit of proficiency. For example, "this material teaches persons how to do x".
- Contains a list of material requirements and setting
- Written for a specific audience or acting role in the surgical practice
- May require the use of a simulator, equipment and a specific setting
- Contains specific self-assesment well aligned to the unit of proficiency
- Knowledge resource: reading material focused on the practice
- Is complementary to skill practice
- Can refer to existing external materials
