Dylan Dunnigan is currently a transfer student at Cal Poly Humboldt studying mechanical engineering. During high school Dylan was involved in Boy Scout Troop 14 of San Francisco. Whilst there he climbed the ranks of scouting while taking a variety of merit badges ranging from Oceanography to Archery. He went on 3 major backpacking trips as a part of Boy Scouts. This was an 8 day trip at Mt. Whitney, California as well as 2 12-day trips in Philmont, New Mexico in 2017 and 2021. Dylan earned his Eagle Scout in the midst of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. After graduating high school in 2020 Dylan went on to work at Tree Frog Treks in San Francisco as online school was not a good fit for him. As Covid restrictions loosened he moved to Costa Mesa, CA in order to study and row at Orange Coast College (OCC). During his time at OCC Dylan had competed against schools across the U.S. in rowing and had discovered a passion for mechanical engineering. Due to OCC being a community college Dylan transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt to further his education. At this time Dylan competes for the Humboldt crew team and enjoys reading, spinning vinyl, card games, board games, and video games in his free time.
