Turbines

A turbine is a rotary mechanical device that extracts energy from a flow of fluid and converts it into useful work using a bladed rotor.

Types[edit | edit source]

Several types can be distinguished:

• Fuel-powered turbine
• Steam turbine (Parsons or Tesla-type)
• Wind turbine
