TissueDB/Tissues/Pelvis
The pelvis is the bony ring at the base of the trunk, formed by the paired hip bones (each comprising the ilium, ischium, and pubis) articulated with the sacrum posteriorly and the pubic symphysis anteriorly. In medical simulation, the pelvis serves as the anatomical host geometry for laparoscopic inguinal hernia simulators (where the pubic ramus carries Cooper's ligament as the principal mesh-fixation landmark), pelvic surgery trainers, and orthopaedic skill models. 3D-printed pelvis substrates derived from anatomical reference models (such as TurboSquid Male Pelvis Section files) enable trainees to develop spatial orientation for percutaneous access, mesh placement, and landmark palpation through overlying tissue substitutes.
