Ureter — The ureters are paired muscular tubes about 26 cm long on average, with a reported range of 22 to 30 cm, that transport urine from the renal pelvis to the urinary bladder by peristalsis. In simulation, the ureter is recreated to teach ureteral stenting, ureteroscopy, and identification during pelvic and abdominal surgery to prevent iatrogenic injury; hysterectomy is the procedure that most often injures it.
