The adnexa are the appendages of the uterus. The uterine adnexa consist of the ovaries, the fallopian tubes and the uterine ligaments.^[1] This is a structure page rather than a tissue page: from here a reader follows the link to the ovary, to the fallopian tube or to the supporting ligaments, and from each of those pages to the materials that simulate them.

Ovary	Paired, one on each side	Releases an ovum from the dominant (Graafian) follicle at ovulation, and secretes the steroid hormones estrogen and progesterone under pituitary control.^[2]
Supporting ligaments	Suspending the ovary and the tube	The broad ligament is a double folding of the peritoneum, in four regions: the mesosalpinx, the mesovarium, the mesometrium and the suspensory ligament of the ovary.^[2]
